Jesus, 44 years old, lives with his two daughters, Carolina (20 years old) and Alice (12 years old). Jesus and his family currently live in Quito, but they are originally from Colombia. Jesus came to Quito as a single father and has been living in the city for nine months. Moving has caused many changes and uncertainty in this family’s life.
To be able to provide a good life for his daughters, Jesus works as a wholesaler from 8 PM to 10 AM from Monday to Saturday. He hopes to move with his daughters to a different country in about three months with documentation cards. The oldest daughter, Carolina, went to school to become a culinary technician and she hopes to own her own business someday. The youngest daughter, Alice, is a seventh grader and a marvelous student. Jesus is very proud of the work that his daughters do.
Although this family has had to move several times, Jesús still wants his daughters to have a stable and successful life. He works hard to provide for them and cares deeply about them. With the help of Pan de Vida, Jesús could give his daughters great opportunities, despite the difficulties they have faced. ‘Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance’ James 1:2-3.
Pan de Vida plans to help this family by providing hot meals and the opportunity to have a relationship with God. It is also important that the youngest daughter, Alice, has school supplies as she progresses in her education. Pan de Vida also hopes to help this family by arranging medical appointments for all three members.
