DEISY MUENALA

Deisy Muenala, from the community of Cachicullá, learned about Pan de Vida thanks to her church pastor. She joined the “Huertos de Vida” (Life farm) program and started with a basic life farm; through hard work and perseverance, she progressed to a full-size life farm and later to an ideal life farm. At this stage, she received chicks, which she now raises with care to reproduce and share with other families through a “chain pass,” helping more households have food and hope.

Her commitment is also evident in the way she has supported the implementation of other life farms, and she has already completed a chain pass to a family from another community. She is part of our group of program champions. In addition, together with her husband, she runs a small business making ponchos, working hard to support their family.

Throughout her journey with Pan de Vida, Deisy received groceries, Bibles, and participated in our Christmas programs. We have also been able to serve and learn together during the visit of a missionary team; her charisma and the way she connects with the community inspired everyone. In her own words, Pan de Vida has meant “a great step forward in everyday life and in the spiritual”: she learned to sow, to care for her animals, her family now eats healthier, and today she can share her knowledge while continuing to learn from others.

Spiritually, Deisy shares that she used to feel her relationship with God was fragile. Through the community development devotionals, prayer, and visits from the technical team, she now feels closer to God and accompanied. She is grateful for the time to talk, to be listened to, and to be strengthened in her faith.
